ADOPTIONS PROCESS & FEES

We always encourage individuals and families to come to our shelter to get to know the animals, socialize and bond with them before picking one. Once you have selected the perfect one, a pre-adoption form will need to be filled out to be approved to adopt the animal. You are welcome to fill out the form before visiting the shelter to save time.

Once approved, and the fee is paid, you can take your new family member home!

*Please note that in some cases, we receive many applications for the same animal, so in such event, we carefully review everyone's adoption application to choose the best suited family for the animal. The Valley SPCA is in no way obligated to approve every application.

Adoption Fees

Cats

All our cats have been examined, received their first vaccines, are dewormed and treated for external parasites (fleas, mites), and, when age permits, have been spayed / neutered. All of our animals are microchipped before leaving the shelter for their new home.

Adoption fees for cats are the following:

- Adult cat: $160

- Kitten under 8 months of age: $180

When the cat is unable to get spayed or neutered while in our care, a $50 refund will be issued upon submission of proof of sterilization performed by a certified veterinarian.

Dogs

All our dog have been examined, received their first vaccines, are dewormed and treated for external parasites (fleas, mites), and, when age permits, have been spayed / neutered. All of our animals are microchipped before leaving the shelter for their new home.

Adoption fees for dogs are the following:

- Adult Large Breed: $400

- Adult Small Breed: $500

- Puppy under 7 months of age: $500

When the dog is unable to get spayed or neutered while in our care, a $75 refund will be issued upon submission of proof of sterilization performed by a certified veterinarian.
